Web Design
Web design isn’t rocket Science.
Anyone can build themselves an awesome, interactive website.
I build sites for people, and then teach them how to maintain them. I also teach people how to build their own sites. If I build a site for you, you’re involved in every step of the creation. I can maintain the site for you, hire a writer to continually add new content to your site and keep it “active” or show you how to do it.
“Why does no one visit my website?”
Most of my clients come to me saying “No one ever comes to my website” The sites I build integrate Search Engine Optimization features. Search Engine Optimization, SEO, means that the words people use when they’re looking for information are the words used in your site.
For example, if someone is looking to hire a florist for their wedding in Tacoma, they won’t be asking google for “Kristi’s Flower Shop” Instead, they’ll use the term “Wedding florist in Tacoma.” Even if Kristi happens to be the best, the busiest or the most inexpensive, no one will be finding her via Google because her site isn’t optimized for Search Engines.
SEO for All Search Engines
The tricky part is that Google, Yahoo and MS all have different algorithms for matching websites with search terms. I like to keep up with SEO news and techniques, and advise my clients to build their sites with their readers and search engines in mind.
Building Inbound Links from all over the (English-speaking) Internet and the World
When you want to build even more web traffic, you can write and distribute instructional or informative articles into article directories, that are reproduced and redistributed on other websites and in online & printed newsletters, for free. I, and my team of content writers, can produce SEO articles for online distribution, that reference your company or even link to your website. For a fee, my writers will ghost-write the articles, so that readers associate you with the helpful advice.
Building More Links
My writers submit content to several large news sites. Additionally, they operate blogs across several topic areas, including parenting, product reviews, technology, home decor, health care, music, politics, shopping, entertainment, pet care, travel, publishing, frugal living, environmentalism, religion, arts, sciences, literature, news, comedy, and more. Your site’s content can be matched to your audience, and inbound links can be generated that expose your site to the millions and millions of visitors that frequent these sites each day.
Why should my site be interactive?
A lot of business owners look at their website as “mine,” while internet users have a different opinion. Rarely will they be surfing to learn more about you. They want answers to a question, they want advice, they want information, and they want to be acknowledged. For your site visitors, it’s all about “me.”
Old-fashioned websites that offer visitors an “About” page, a “contact” page and “products” don’t really give your visitors much to stick around for. Search engines see this non-changing information as stagnant, and unless you have a lot of incoming links, or very good SEO, you’ll probably not see a lot of visitors, and they may not ever return.
Creating an Interactive Site
Any time a reader is allowed to add something to your site, you’re interactive. Some companies do this with a blog, some do it with message boards, A “Question & Answer” or advice column, poll questions, Flickr groups or a chat room, and user-created blogs. A customized solution for your needs can be created. My network and team of social networkers and interactive web designers can create a plan for you. We can teach you how to execute the plan, or build it for you.
Why is Social Networking Important?
Social networking allows readers to personally connect with your company. Whether you have a company MySpace or Facebook account, or a Twitter account, readers can comment to you directly, ask you questions, or receive your latest updates. A company MySpace or Facebook account can be set up to automatically be updated, without your personal attention. For under an hour each month, you can make the experience more powerful for your fans by using these environments to communicate directly. Or, you can hire one of my Social Networking team members to maintain your presence, responding to visitor inquiries, leaving helpful comments and generating more of a following for you.
